My experience was Jeff Aafedt was truly life changing.  I was originally looking at renting a home from my sister (she gave me the go ahead to look at homes in the Moorhead area for her to purchase), in hopes of buying it from her later when my credit cleared up a bit.  I had gone through a bankruptcy and divorce, so my credit needed some work. 

On a Sunday afternoon, I found the home I had been looking for!  It was in the neighborhood I wanted, with the right amount of bedrooms, and the fenced in yard for my kids I had dreamed of!  There had been many updates to the home as well, and the price was in range.  I wanted to put an offer on it right away.  I got a hold of a realtor that my other sister had recommended to me.  He told me that he had a mortgage lender in mind that would be perfect for my situation.  I had no idea they were actually thinking I would be the one on the loan.

The very next morning (Monday), I received a phone call from Jeff, and did a phone application.  He was optimistic about me being on the loan and getting my credit back in shape.  I didn’t think it was possible, as I wanted to close on this loan within 60 days and put an offer in right away.  That same afternoon I was pre-approved, along with my sister, and an offer was made.  That same evening the offer was accepted, and a closing date was set for 45 days out.

The next few days I collected all the documentation they needed from me proving income, stability, bank accounts, tax returns, etc.  Also, the next couple of weeks I worked on two things that were on my credit report that could have prevented my loan to be closed.  Jeff helped me settle these amounts with the creditors.  Not only was I purchasing a house, but fixed my credit as well!

I closed on the home right on schedule.  On May 14, 2008 at about 1030am I had the keys to my new home.  That same weekend I moved all of my belongings in and watched the excited faces of my children when I showed them their new rooms and backyard they had to play in!

I encourage anyone with less than perfect credit to visit with Jeff if you are interested in owning a home.  Somehow everything turned out better than I imagined.  I give Jeff a lot of credit for helping me and those in similar situations as mine.  I know it is his job, but he goes above and beyond!  It takes a certain person to have the drive to help those transactions that aren’t going to be so easy, and take more time out of the day (and night).
